Volunteering for education

The Harsova 3D Association project aimed to improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Harsova and its surroundings through the active involvement of volunteers.

The project recruited and trained at least 15 volunteers in non-formal education methods, while strengthening the association’s volunteer program through an audit and strategic development process.

Volunteers organized and carried out a minimum of 15 educational and recreational activities for at least 70 children and young people, contributing to their cognitive, social and emotional development. Special attention was paid to sustainability, by developing a fundraising strategy and training the association’s team in this area. Thus, the project had a direct positive impact on the beneficiaries and developed the volunteers’ skills.

Ultimately, the goal was to create a solid and efficient volunteer program that would generate sustainable benefits for the local community.

  1. Increase the number of adult volunteers of the association by carrying out a recruitment campaign at the beginning of the project and attracting at least 15 volunteers passionate about education in the first two months of the project
  2. Increase the capacity of volunteers to provide educational activities by organizing a training course focused on non-formal education methods and a teambuilding by the end of the project.
  3. Organize at least 15 non-formal activities, including outdoor activities, for at least 70 vulnerable children and adolescents from Harsova and the surrounding area by the end of the project.
  4. Increase the capacity of the Harsova 3D Association to develop and maintain a long-term volunteer program by creating a development strategy for the H3D volunteer program.
  1. Project Management – This activity ensured the overall coordination of the project, progress monitoring and efficient management of the budget and resources. It also maintained constant communication with partners and ensured the visibility of the project through online and offline promotion.
  2. Volunteer Recruitment and Selection – An online and offline campaign was launched to attract at least 15 adult volunteers. The selection was made based on application forms and interviews, with an emphasis on the motivation of the candidates.
  3. Volunteer Program Development – A technical audit of the existing program was carried out, and an expert collaborated with the team to develop and optimize it. In the end, a robust and well-structured volunteer program was achieved, complemented by a long-term development strategy.
  4. Volunteer training – A specialized training course was organized, focusing on non-formal education methods, which combined theoretical sessions with practical exercises. Volunteers thus acquired the necessary tools to plan and implement educational activities for children.
  5. Implementation of activities with children and youth – Trained volunteers carried out at least 15 non-formal activities in Hârșova and Vadu Oii for at least 70 vulnerable children and youth. These activities focused on the cognitive and socio-emotional development of the beneficiaries, contributing to reducing the risk of school dropout.
